ℹ Computer information

  • PowerToys version: 0.31.1
  • PowerToy Utility:
  • Running PowerToys as Admin: No
  • Windows build number: 20H2 (19042.746)

📝 Provide detailed reproduction steps (if any)

  1. Set up FancyZones with two zones
  2. On any window not already snapped to a zone, press Win+Left
  3. Observe that window snaps to the right-most zone.
  4. Pressing Win+Left again will move the window to the left zone which was originally desired

✔️ Expected result

First Win+Left should snap the window to the left-most zone

❌ Actual result

Windows snaps to the right-most zone

Actually, What is your layout assigned here. Win + Left would go to first zone. The concept of 'left' and 'right' isn't something we adopt with FancyZones as that doesn't work with how we deal with zones

I uploaded all the files when I submitted the bug, so they may clarify the layout? But I can tell you I have two zones, 1 and 2. 1 is on the left, and 2 is on the right. When I do Win+Left, it always goes to zone 2, and then a second Win+Left goes to zone 1. This is a single monitor setup, 3440x1440 resolution.

@tteshera
if you have this setting:
image
it's by design that win+right arrow moves to zone number 1, then numer 2 and so on. And win+left arrow moves from zone N to zone N-1.

If you want to move windows by position you have to select this options that support all four arrows to move in all directions:

As explained in the documentation https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/powertoys/fancyzones#settings
