Description of the new feature / enhancement

The new clipboard manager AI feature is a security and privacy nightmare, whether it's "optional" or not. Other programs have already shown they will run chatgpt queries in the background without user notification. These services are currently free, but they're running on venture capital funds for now. Most others that didn't have that luxury are charging users per month, usually starting at $7 or more. So once Copilot is no longer free2play and they pull the rug out... I doubt users will actually stick around. Especially for something that is currently depleting drinking water from a drought region.*

OpenAI has a terrible privacy policy. Anything entered by a user, they can keep and reuse however they want. They log and distribute your PC details, location, and personal info amongst themselves and partners freely. Check Supporting Information for highlights of their privacy policy. This means anything using chatgpt or made by OpenAI is a personal data vacuum.

Copilot, Microsoft's implementation, is also chatgpt based. Microsoft is cramming it in every app they can possibly do so, and even Powertoys fell victim. If AI integration isn't completely removable including files and registry, it's untrustable.

Scenario when this would be used?

whether it's "optional" or not.

I understand your concerns, and that is why Advanced Paste does not communitcate with OpenAi at all, when no OpenApi Key is added. That's why I have trouble understanding your statement above. When it is optional, you have the control.

If AI integration isn't completely removable including files and registry, it's untrustable.

It is completely able to disable. As the whole source code is Open Source you can check on it ourselves and report any security concerns you can see in the code, if you want.

Plus we're planning on adding other AI models, besides OpenAi in the future.

Thank you for that information. I'm now confident I'll never use this program again now or in the future :)

Ok, sad I wasn't able to convince you. Although I wouldn't recommend it you could still download and use older versions or if you can, build PowerToys yourself without the Advanced Paste code in it. :)
