According to the announcement in TFS 2020+ WIT & Test Client SOAP endpoints will be deprecated:
https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/devops/2018/05/21/announcing-the-deprecation-of-the-wit-and-test-client-om-at-jan-1-2020-2/

At the moment WorkItemClient uses only SOAP-based endpoints so it looks like it's affected by this change and it needs to support REST-endpoints.
