@Zingam Could you walk me through what you tried? What is the repro? Were you in an empty folder? Does your extension work in an already created project? Any information that could help understand what you're seeing and what a possible repro might be would be great.

Ah, could you please try making sure that you've opened a folder before trying the QuickStart command in WSL?

Thanks. I am not sure what I did on this attempt differently but when I created a new folder and used it to create a WSL project it worked.
It would be good if the new project folder could be created by the Quick Start wizard itself. Let's call this a Feature Request.
Especially on a WSL (remote) target it is a bit annoying that I need to create the folder externally/manually.
