Most of the python.* settings are missing. Greyed out.

Most of the python.* related settings seem to be disabled.

python extension Version v2023.20.0
Pylance extension version v2023.11.10

This was working earlier, I am not sure what changed in my env. I have had similar challenges being able to get these things working in the past.

I have reinstalled these extensions, restarted vscode etc and the issue remains. Made sure the correct interpreter is selected.

This is expected as we have moved out all tool-related support to separate extensions. See https://code.visualstudio.com/updates/v1_84#_deprecated-builtin-linting-and-formatting-features for more details.

Thanks, this has been a pretty disrupting change. I guess I should have disabled auto updates of vs code. (Getting these extensions and their settings to work was a difficult thing to begin with even in the earlier versions)

We have been notifying users for months about this upcoming change, but I understand it's easy to overlook when we have been trained to dismiss most notifications without reading them.

As for the settings, they are mostly just renamed under the new extensions. For instance, python.formatting.blackArgs would be black-formatter.args under the Black formatter extension.
