Good Morning,

I keep getting an error when trying to use Remote Development on VSCode. I can access the files in the VSCode Terminal via the WSL Extension, however when ever I try to connect to the remote extension host server or try to open a remote window using any of the three extensions I get this error. I usually develop on Mac but i'm moving to Windows at a new gig and Im trying to get a Ubuntu/ VSCode dev environment together. It's weird because WSL Remote was working completely fine last Friday but just stopped connecting to the host server for SOME reason.

Failed to connect to the remote extension host server (Error: connect ETIMEDOUT 127.0.0.1:56483)

*I'm not sure if this is an IP address issue or what, but I could really use some help figuring out the problem.
I attached the WSL Terminal details as a PNG. I have re-downloaded the extensions and the application several times and even tried it in VSCode insiders.

  • VSCode Version: 1.36.0/ Electron 4.2.5/
  • Local OS Version: Windows 10 build 1903
    Remote Extension WSL

Actually I realized the problem had to do with my Antivirus Software. If anyone has similar problems like this be sure to check your Firewall configurations or any antivirus software. Seems like the host wasn't being accessed because of security.
