Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Drag git over to the side panel

  2. Restart VSCode, observe side panel and git are gone.

  3. Set side panel to be visible

@ElanHasson when you restart vs code, are you re-opening to the same workspace or a new workspace?

Same workspace.

It's a wsl remote if it matters.

I tried to reproduce this way:
Uploading Get Started - serverless (Workspace) [WSL_ UbuntuZsh] - Visual Studio Code 2022-02-07 12-57-18.mp4…

It seems that it now is persisting. I think it's since I enabled the new layout button, but reverting didn't fix.
