This is the current wording is not localized, we should do so for both deb and rpm packages.

Summary:

Code editing. Redefined.

Description:

Visual Studio Code is a new choice of tool that combines the simplicity of a code editor with what developers need for the core edit-build-debug cycle. See https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/setup/linux for installation instructions and FAQ.

Some things to consider:

  • We currently refer to the application as just Visual Studio Code regardless of the build type (stable, insiders, OSS), we can change this to be more specific (Visual Studio Code - Insiders, Code - OSS, ...).
  • The link cannot be clicked and must be copied and pasted into a browser. I'm not sure this is adding much value.
