If you change off of the gear icon, you lose the first letters of the profile being shown. This is problematic if you choose to reuse the same icon for multiple profiles (e.g., I want every profile but the default profile to have the gear icon).
Filing as a bug since the label used to be there and I can't really use the icons without the label being there if more than one profile uses the same icon (which could happen since the expressiveness of the icon set isn't broad enough for my personal needs).

@brettcannon Thanks for providing the feedback. I think placing profile letters on top of the custom icon will take away the necessity of introducing the icon. I agree that we should add more icon sets and we are also planning to add colors. I hope that will solve your probilem.
It might; not sure yet. I have 8 profiles right now, so memorizing what each icon represents might be a bit tricky (I mainly need to watch out for when I start a new project an my last profile selection gets carried over automatically instead of automatically switching back to "Default").
