Description:
I am encountering an issue where I am unable to open a repository in VS Code. Whenever I try to open a repository, the operation gets canceled without any error message or indication of what went wrong.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Launch VS Code (Version 1.90.1).
  2. Go to the Source Control view.
  3. Click on "Clone Repository" or "Open Repository" option.
  4. Enter the repository URL (e.g., https://github.com/example/repository).
  5. Press Enter or click on "Clone" / "Open".

Expected Behavior:
The repository should open and display its contents in the VS Code workspace.

Actual Behavior:
The operation is canceled abruptly, and the repository does not open. There are no error messages or warnings provided.

Environment:

Operating System: Windows 7
VS Code Version: 1.90.1
Extensions, C/C++ Themes, Github Pull Requests, material Icon Theme, WSL, GitHub Actions

Additional Information:

I have verified that the repository URL is correct and accessible.
My internet connection is stable, and I do not face issues accessing other websites or services.
Screenshots:
(If applicable, attach screenshots showing the Source Control view or any relevant error messages.)

Notes:
This issue started occurring after updating to VS Code version 1.90.1. I have tried restarting VS Code, rebooting my computer, and reinstalling VS Code, but the problem persists.

Thanks for reporting this issue! Unfortunately, it's hard for us to understand what issue you're seeing. Please help us out by providing a screen recording showing exactly what isn't working as expected. While we can work with most standard formats, .gif files are preferred as they are displayed inline on GitHub. You may find https://gifcap.dev helpful as a browser-based gif recording tool.

If the issue depends on keyboard input, you can help us by enabling screencast mode for the recording (Developer: Toggle Screencast Mode in the command palette). Lastly, please attach this file via the GitHub web interface as emailed responses will strip files out from the issue.

Happy coding!
