  • VSCode Version: 1.22.2
  • OS Version: MacOS

I am coming from VIM and I use Visual Studio Code in split window mode and what I really miss from VIM is having a single group of tabs opened when I am working in split windows. Right now I have as much groups of tabs as there are split windows instead I would like to have an option to disable this grouping and have one shared group for all windows.

@rkuska If I understand correctly, you want to turn off Editor groups but you still want to split windows/tabs, right? If so we can't do that as our concept of window/tab management is different from Vim. @bpasero can give a better explanation.
