  • download and extract the VS Code insiders zip build to %HOMEPATH\VSCode-win32-x64-1.75.0-insider
  • create a data folder VSCode-win32-x64-1.75.0-insider\data
  • start code-insiders and create some profiles
  • open a folder and set one of the new profiles
  • close VS Code, rename VSCode-win32-x64-1.75.0-insider to VSCode-win32-x64-1.75.0-insider2
  • start VS Code again. It opens on the previous folder with the profile
  • check the disk. A folder VSCode-win32-x64-1.75.0-insider has been recreated: VSCode-win32-x64-1.75.0-insider\data\user-data\User\profiles\7898c455\snippets` (no files, just folders)
