As soon as this extension was pushed out, all the Team Projects disappeared from the web portal in the project collections with the extension. You will get an error on the page, "Value cannot be null. Parameter name: key". Other project collections without the extension work as expected. Disabling the extension will resolve the problem.

Same Problem Here. Disabling plugin in Version 15.117.26714.0 (TFS 2017 U2) resolved issue. Hope another update gets pushed soon. Our users rely on this plugin.

Same issue. We have deleted this Extension from our Collections. We were down for half a day. What a waste of productivity.

Same here, TFS 2017 (15.117.27414.0). Are those updates enforced ? Is there a way to avoid this extension to update itself ?

It appears to have been fixed with Team Calendar extension version 2.0.8.

Thanks a lot. It helped . But we are still wondering how the server updated though we have disabled the patches from microsoft/tfs/ie

Apologies guys for the issue.

version 2.0.8 includes the fix, please disable the extension, wait till update is downloaded from marketplace, enable the extension when you see current version to be 2.0.8.

You can check version and enable disable extension from extension management page by clicking on the extension.

Can confirm 2.0.8 fixes the issue.
Makes sense in retrospect why only some collections worked.

What a headache! Glad it's over now though. Just wish diagnosing was easier for this...

I thought when extensions update they leave a notification on the extensions page so you can review what changed.

  • Does this extension auto apply every change pushed by the authors?
  • Is there any way to prevent that from happening?

I think this is basically the same thing being asked by @process2progress is asking above.

@cowlike Extension updates require permission (authorization by admin) only when scopes (permissions required) by extension are changed in update. Otherwise extensions are automatically updated.

You can check extension (update) history by clicking on the extension in Extension Management tab.

I just uninstalled the "Team Calendar" extension and it fixed our problem. Not acceptable guys!

It is unfortunate this happened, thankfully the impact on us was low. Kudos for the quick turnaround on the fix
