"winget upgrade -q Microsoft" doesn't find any package to upgrade #2627
Comments
does your "winget search xxxx" returns the newest version? winget at my system now returns outdated package and it seems the data base does not update anymore. |
@denelon - I would argue that this is I believe the request here would be more akin to making Perhaps it's best stated by the command help -

Brief description of your issue
I do:
winget list -q Microsoft
and get back:
then I do:
winget upgrade -q Microsoft
and get back:
That sounds very wrong, I'd expect it to upgrade all items shown in the list above (since if I do "winget upgrade -all" it list several Microsoft packages to upgrade among other packages for upgrade - but I want to upgrade only the ones which the query "Microsoft" would pick)
Steps to reproduce
Expected behavior
should upgrade any packages listed at step [1] that are upgradeable (can usually see some that contain the word "Microsoft" either in their Id or Title via "winget uprade -all" but there may be more specific command for that)
Actual behavior
says "No installed package found matching input criteria."
