Can't open files in WebDAV location

I have a WebDAV location configured into Windows 7 through the 'map network drive' method. I can open XML files stored in this location in other applications, but not XMLNotepad. It gives the errror:

It must be a security thing. When I setup WebDAV on my localhost it worked fine both with UNC path and with a drive mapped path.

Hi I'm having a similar issue with SharePoint Online locations (eg https://praintl.sharepoint.com/sites/IT/SE/Shared Documents/Azure AD/Apps/.xml) but it's indicating that it's forbidden even though I have that location open in File Explorer and IE.

Right, XML Notepad does not support sharepoint authentication.
