Add and delete contacts for synchronization in Microsoft Dynamics AX and Microsoft Outlook

You can synchronize the list of contacts that you have stored in Microsoft Dynamics AX with the contact list that you have in a Microsoft Outlook profile. You can also synchronize the contact list that you have in a Microsoft Outlook profile with your list of contacts in Microsoft Dynamics AX. The procedures in this topic describe how to synchronize your contacts between Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Dynamics AX. The procedures also describe how to remove contacts that you have synchronized between the two programs.

Add and synchronize contacts from Microsoft Outlook to Microsoft Dynamics AX

  1. Click Home > Periodic > Microsoft Outlook synchronization > My contacts.

  2. Click Add contacts, and then click Add contacts from Microsoft Outlook.

  3. In the Choose profile form, select Outlook in the Profile name field, or click New to create a new profile.

  4. In the Add contacts from Microsoft Outlook form, select the contact that you want to add, and then select a party in the list.

  5. Select the Selected check box to add the contact.

  6. Click Create. Your contacts are added to Microsoft Dynamics AX and synchronized.

Add and synchronize contacts from Microsoft Dynamics AX to Microsoft Outlook

  1. Click Home > Periodic > Microsoft Outlook synchronization > My contacts.

  2. Click Add contacts, and then click Add contacts from Microsoft Dynamics.

  3. In the Choose profile form, select Outlook in the Profile name field, or click New to create a new profile. Click OK.

  4. In the My contacts form, click Synchronize to synchronize your Microsoft Dynamics AX contacts with a Microsoft Outlook profile.

Note

You can also synchronize selected contacts that you have stored in Microsoft Dynamics AX with a Microsoft Outlook profile. On the My contacts list page, select the contacts that you want to synchronize with Microsoft Outlook. Then, on the Action Pane, on the Contact tab, in the Include group, click Add to Microsoft Outlook contacts.

Remove contacts in Microsoft Dynamics AX and Microsoft Outlook

  1. Click Home > Periodic > Microsoft Outlook synchronization > My contacts.

  2. Select the contact that you want to remove. Then, on the Action Pane, on the Contact tab, in the Maintain group, click Delete.

    When you delete a contact in the Contact details form, the contact is also removed from the My contacts form.
