Excel file of 'Security Center common configuration identifiers and baseline rules' outdated #5070
Comments
@aydeisen Thanx for reporting! I have assigned this to the content author to investigate and update as appropriate. |
@aydeisen - Thank you for your feedback. We are in the process of updating the spreadsheet. The updated version should be published in the next few days, I'll follow-up when it is. I have also forwarded your suggestion for JSON snippets. Thanks, Terry |
@aydeisen - The spreadsheet of baseline rules was updated on 3/15/18. Thank you. |

@aydeisen We will now proceed to close this thread. If there are further questions regarding this matter, please reopen it and we will gladly continue the discussion. |
The Excelsheet is outdated again. Is there a way to create a new one, or perhaps export security configurations recommendations from the Azure security center? |
@ThomasBalder - Thank you for pointing this out. I will look into this. |
@memildin - Please see last customer comment. This issue references a spreadsheet on TechNet Gallery. TechNet Gallery has been archived so the article that this issue is against may no longer be linking to the referenced spreadsheet. If the article is still linking to the spreadsheet, please check to see that information is not outdated. |
This document references a link to a spreadsheet with the security settings that can be monitored by Security Center
https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/Azure-Security-Center-a789e335
This spreadsheet is clearly outdated, as a download of the BaselineConfiguration.json file with the default Microsoft rules contains rules that are not in the spreadsheet. It would be great if this could be updated.
It would also be great to have a section under the 'Set Security Policy' heading with the JSON snippets for the available rules, similar to the format of the Azure Template Resources documentation. I understand this solution is still in preview, but I shouldn't need to track down the MS-GPSB to find where the settingName for a rule is coming from, or to find the correct settingName for a policy I want to monitor, but isn't listed in the outdated spreadsheet.
