Required licensing for websites hosted on servers in China:

  1. An ICP License is only required if your website is hosted or delivered via CDN from inside of Mainland China.
    https://www.cdnfinder.com/knowledge-base/need-icp-license/

  2. Operating from China is also a prerequisite for acquiring a license. Foreign companies such as Google, unable to acquire an ICP license on their own, often partner with Chinese Internet companies to use the licenses of the Chinese company.

Hey, jsDelivr actually has an ICP license with an already excellent network in Asia. On top of that we soon plan to add a new CDN that has even more Asian locations including mainland China.

@jimaek Wow, thanks for chiming in. 🙇 That sounds fantastic. Does that mean our company (we are not based in China) does not require an ICP license yet can still have our assets served via jsDelivr in China? Or do you think we still need our own ICP license?

Our license applies only to our domain. So our files will load just fine in China, but I cant guarantee that your website or your other CDNs will work the same way.
