I'm finding that some games would run well on the Mac OS 8 images, except that they want one or more of the GameSprockets to be installed. Sometimes those games come with the installer bundled, sometimes they don't. But if the GameSprockets have a light enough footprint (which they seem to, IMO) it would be a nice convenience to have them pre-installed on these images.
Would you also be interested in a way to provide your own boot image (in addition to/instead of just the additional "CD-ROM" to load)? Then you could have a taylor-made boot disk for each game with just the extensions that it needs.
Oh my gosh, yes, I would make use of a feature like that, where I could specify a boot image with a minimal system folder and the individual piece of software to run. That would especially help with programs that want to be first started from an installer, in order to add a couple extensions or a prefs file, like the demo for Myth: The Fallen Lords. It would also provide faster startup, and let me target the System/Mac OS versions that emulate the fastest.
The best of both worlds option would be that the "Outside World" and Infinite HD drives also mount when using a custom boot image.
