AgentX
> Customize the User-Agent string globally or per site.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/agentx/

* The most recently updated User-Agent switcher at time I was seeking for one. Last time I checked, Facebook required Chrome user-agent for showing 360 videos and enabling push notifications.

bitwarden - Free Password Manager

bitwarden is a secure and free password manager for all of your devices.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/bitwarden-password-manager/

  • Open source LastPass alternative.

Decentraleyes

Protects you against tracking through "free", centralised, content delivery. It prevents a lot of requests from reaching networks like Google Hosted Libraries, and serves local files to keep sites from breaking. Complements regular content blockers.

HTML5 Video Everywhere!

Higher performance and stable sideo watching experience on the web.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/html5-video-everywhere/

  • via IceCat
  • Replaces e.g. YouTube video player with the Firefox inbuild one.

HTTPS Everywhere

Encrypt the web! HTTPS Everywhere is a Firefox extension to protect your communications by enabling HTTPS encryption automatically on sites that are known to support it, even when you type URLs or follow links that omit the https: prefix.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/https-everywhere/

  • "HSTS for sites without HSTS."

IPvFoo

Display the server IP address, with a realtime summary of IPv4, IPv6, and HTTPS information across all page elements.

(This is primarily a Chrome extension, so it's a bit glitchy due to Firefox's inexact implementation of the APIs.)

Privacy Badger

Protects your privacy by blocking spying ads and invisible trackers.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/privacy-badger17/

  • I don't use any adblockers and Privacy Badger only blocks those who don't respect Do Not Track which is sadly everything.

Pushbullet

Pushbullet enables you to see your calls and texts on your computer and easily send links and files from your computer to phone.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/pushbullet/

  • Phone notifications, open source solutions welcome.

Zoom Page WE

Zoom web pages (either per-site or per-tab) using full-page zoom, text-only zoom and minimum font size. Fit-to-width zooming can be applied to pages automatically. Fit-to-window scaling can be applied to small images.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/zoom-page-we/

* I wish this was a Firefox feature as Chrome allows setting the default zoom level.

Go to about:config and set layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 1.25 or on macOS with Retina display at least 2.0. It will also increase the size of UI buttons.

µBlock Origin

Finally, an efficient blocker. Easy on CPU and memory.

Cookie AutoDelete

Control your cookies! This WebExtension is inspired by Self Destructing Cookies. When a tab closes, any cookies not being used are automatically deleted. Whitelist the ones you trust while deleting the rest. Support for Container Tabs.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/cookie-autodelete/

NoScript Security Suite

The best security you can get in a web browser!
Allow active content to run only from sites you trust, and protect yourself against XSS and Clickjacking attacks, "Spectre", "Meltdown" and other JavaScript exploits.
Fx52? https://noscript.net/getit
https://addons.mozilla.org/fi/firefox/addon/noscript/

Text Contrast for Dark Themes

Fixes low-contrast text when using a dark desktop theme.

Firefox Multi-Account Containers

Firefox Multi-Account Containers lets you keep parts of your online life separated into color-coded tabs that preserve your privacy. Cookies are separated by container, allowing you to use the web with multiple identities or accounts simultaneously.

Facebook Container

Prevent Facebook from tracking you around the web. The Facebook Container extension for Firefox helps you take control and isolate your web activity from Facebook.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/facebook-container/

  • Automatically creates a new container for Facebook and uses it for it. I think it may be helpful also for users not using Facebook in case they find themselves clicking Facebook links.

Google container

THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL ADDON FROM MOZILLA!
It is a fork of the Facebook Container addon.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/google-container/?src=hotness

  • Similar as the one above, I guessed that it must exist :D

Suggestion from IRC: put the file outside of the blog to Hubzilla where some instance will hopefully stay up and available for me to get this.
