Por exemplo, selecionei uma o dia 15/02/2016 no calendário da esquerda, se eu voltar um mês, ele perde a seleção, sempre marca o primeiro dia do mês.
O comportamento esperado nesse caso é permitir o usuário trocar de mês, sem afetar a data selecionada.

Ver exemplo abaixo:
Bootstrap-datepicker

Selecione qualquer data e depois troque de mês e volte para o mês da data selecionada.
