MineDojo is more refined version of the MineRL v0.4.4, with more tasks, benchmarks, additional data and more observations. MineRL v1.0 is a completely new version which provides more human-like controls, but lacks the convenience of modifying how to setup the environment or what observations you can get.

I'd recommend first checking MineDojo for your research/work as it will probably fit your needs better.
