Makes me wonder why there was never an official EN release for the Gemei A330.

The CN version already contains localized data for days 1-5, and with a little bit of hacking, at least the beginning of the game can be played in English (I haven't tested further). Until somebody makes an emulator of the Dingoo A320, this might be the ultimate version of the game for the western audience.

I also wonder if for example the graphics were upgraded for the GA330, as it should be a bit more powerful. The game doesn't seem to use any specialized hardware features like DMA or blitters/scalers.

And indeed, after watching the YouTube videos more carefully, the 3D graphics of the Dingoo A320 version seem of considerably higher-quality than on GA330 (for example, proper shadows instead of blobs).

When I have time again, I will try to see if the A320 can be emulated as easily as the GA330. The hardware architecture is different, but the OS should be pretty much the same.

Hello! Sorry for going off-topic, but I just really wanted to say "thank you" for starting this project. I'm really happy to see that people still remember this great game, which was never fully released for western audience before Dingoo Games demise, and it's a shame, because it's quite an underrated gem among the mobile games. And hopefully, someday, it will be possible to play through the entire game with english translation via either GA330 or Dingoo A320 emulation. I was afraid that after my A320 has died, I'll never have a chance to play 7 Days: Salvation again.

Exactly. My personal speculation would be performance reasons -- perhaps the A320 MIPS build was specially optimized to enable this higher fidelity, and they were not able / not willing to do the same level of optimization for the GA330 (ARM) version.

hi all,i just wanna say, i found a symbian emulator, its named EKA2L1 its available for mobile (android) win and mac (its open source project,yes at github).
i then install 7days on it and its run smoothly.
idk this will help or not, but maybe this will make the testing a bit easly and faster? idk anything about the spk file.

yeah i just wanna play 7days again with English patch 😅 i finished this game a few time but don't know exactly about the story haha. i hope this project will keep going.
edit : oops its available for linux (ubuntu) too.
