The current implementation expects to find a sftp daemon on the host, and connect with docker@[HOSTIP]. it might be beneficial to allow mounting a remote machine

@gbraad I am not sure what use case it will solve? Can you please give more context? At this point we are only trying to resolve the local host folder mount use case as this is our primary objective.
