看见有人问小说是否一定要征服读者，过于追求征服，会不会忽略了与读者之间共情。田耳回答说，读者以为的共情，其实是作者的征服，这叫欲得乎中必求其上，很多时候我们不是在寻找共情的人，而是寻找征服者，然后试图与他共情。这段话太妙，几乎同理可证所有人与外界的关系。
