The Atari ST core already has write protection for floppy discs, and I think the MinimigAGA core should have this feature, too.
Viruses were a big problem back then on the Amiga.
I recently found out, that a few of my discs were infected by a (harmless) bootblock virus. Without floppy write protection, viruses can spread really fast on the MiST.
