Start in raw input mode. Hit alt+tab. Click x on window.

Does raw input generally make the game more unresponsive? For example menus take a long (~ 10 seconds on a fast machine) to open.

That's strange, unfortunately I haven't seen that issue before. So to be clear, the issue goes away when raw input is disabled?
