Hello,

before I was able to set iTerm2 title with -t switch but it at some point stopped working.
I am not sure if after iTerm2 or ttab update.

now if I do ttab -t abc a new tab title says bash

Hmm... I just updated to 3.3.7, and it still works for me with the latest ttab (v0.6.1), and I can't find anything in iTerm's settings that would prevent it (you can only prevent setting the window title via ANSI escape codes).

Any idea what's special about your configuration? Does it happen with all profiles?

I'm closing this for now - if you have a reproducible case, we can revisit.

I had the same issue in iTerm2 after upgrading to 3.3.11.

I found a fix by editing Preferences -> Profiles -> General -> Title = "Session Name":

I hope that's helpful to someone!

Thank you for solving this mystery, @francis-lookback. I've added a note to the read-me file that links to your comment.

No worries! I guess iTerm2 just changed their default config between versions.

Does this still work for you?

It still works for me in iTerm2 v3.4.14 and ttab v0.7.2 - and, in fact, it now even works if Session Name is not checked.

3.14.12 cant get it working: 0:7: execution error: Can’t get application "iTerm". (-1728)

@rublev, that sounds like a more fundamental problem. Unless your problem is specific to use of the -t option - in which case you'll need to provide more information - please open a new issue, with sufficient information to diagnose the problem.

Also, @rublev: it's generally also worth upgrading to the latest iTerm version first.
