just to avoid the issues we had on wednesday in Paris.

the script would:

  • assume scientific python is there (eg anaconda)
  • download the MNE-C code nightly adapted to the system
  • update the .bashrc
  • download mne-python and install it (optionally in user home)
  • raise warning if mayavi, pysurfer are not installed.

any volunteer?

@agramfort I spoke with @satra who suggested to even go further and on the long run create an app along the lines of PsychoPy. Another suggestion of his was to take a look into setting up entire runtimes for future trainings using http://www.vagrantup.com/

Besides this +1 for this. I don't know why but this feels like something @mluessi might be interested in taking care of ;-)

@agramfort another thought that occured to me. Would it make sense to include mne-stable and update the MNE nighly build dmg and the installer such that it does all the magic required?

well maybe but it's painful and only people at MGH can maintain it, which
is bad in the long run.

I don't think we need this anymore because our MNE-C dependency has been lifted. @agramfort agreed?
