Hiya!

The idea with multiple sets is that you can create different sets of buttons for different user groups - you can indeed only show a single set at a time for a user.

ok! thanks for clearing that up. It still would be great to be able group buttons somehow e.g

Page updates
btn1, btn2, btn3

Admin tasks
btn1, btn2, btn3, btn4

You mean multiple dashboard widgets (as per set)?

ideally, yes

I ran into this today - I quite often have group of buttons which are related to updating / creating content (new gallery, news item, product etc) and then another group which are for functions such as previewing site / clearing cache / contact / link check etc. Having each group of buttons as a separate widget would be good too.

I'm also find useful to can displaying several sets of buttons on a same time.
Is this feature abandoned ?

It's not yet implemented. Time flies. This is one of the things I'd like to do for a v2 as it'll likely require at least some reconfiguration to make it work.

I just ran into this too today :)
Could we then for the 1.x branch change the texts...

Once in the overview:

Below a list of all sets for your dashboard widget. Per set you can configure the buttons and you can bind a set to specific usergroup(s).

And maybe also in the user-groups tab:

Here you can assign the User Groups that will use this set.
If no User Groups are assigned, all users will use this set.

...to reflect this information? Something like adding "Currently only one set is shown in the dashboard".
