Sometimes I know someone had a baby in a certain month, but I don't know the exact day.
It would be nice to be able to save those dates without having to define the day of the month for them!
Instead of having to choose between:
I do not know this person’s age
This person is probably...
I know the day and month of the birthdate of this person, but not the year…
I know the exact birthdate of this person...
It would be nice if you could just fill in as much information as you know, and be able to leave the month, day, or year blank. If you leave them all blank, it means you don't know. And you could add a checkbox saying that "This person is probably...".
If you fill in the month and day, then you could show the "Create an annual reminder for the birthday" option.

This is being handled fairly well with Life Events. Can we reuse that code for birthdays? Or to take it a step further, we could just merge birthdays into Life Events.
Excellent point, thanks for the issue. Also, @tbirrell, indeed we could reuse the same mechanism in Life Events, but I would have to make specific changes still in the database to allow this. But it totally makes sense.
