So, not using any form of juiced status line, looks a little off.

In the attached screenshot it looks like the colors are inverted. - The split on the right is the focused one, but judging by the status line, it looks to be the other way around (to my eyes, at least).

Not sure if this is a bug or intended. So far I've hacked a dirty fix but I know nothing about theming Vim, so I thought I'd drop you an issue.

EDIT: Comparing your screenshots to my own sorta makes me realize that there might be something fundamentally wrong with the colors on my machine, no? - I have added set termguicolors as per your instructions and are using Neovim/ConEmu, by the time the screenshot was taken, though.

The colors on that screenshot, at least, look nothing like what I see when editing the same file.
Which vim are you using, GUI or terminal, and on which platform/in which terminal emulator?

Here is what I see when editing the same file in Neovim in Gnome-Terminal on Ubuntu.

@thriveth I'm running Neovim 0.2-dev on Ubuntu 14.04 through WSL/Windows 10, using ConEmu as terminal.

@superDuperCyberTechno Same vim, different terminal, different platform. My guess is that's where the peoblem is hiding.

@superDuperCyberTechno
Aha, sorry it took some extra. It seems to my like termguicolors is not working for you with ConEmu.
Could you please try different terminal and open issue at the neovim's repo?
