Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Settings menu > About Reference Browser

Expected behavior

  • A page showing the R-B and GV versions.

Actual behavior

  • The address bar shows the URI about:version, but the page is blank.

Device information

  • Android device: Moto G5 Plus
  • Reference Browser version: 1.0.1922 according to the Google Play Store. R-B's about:version page is blank.

Hmm.. seems like something changed in GV js policies?

about:version triggers the app's request interceptor which then calls GeckoView#loadData.

The same is happening for about:privatebrowsing.

A fix for about pages landed yesterday (autoland).

@pocmo: Do you know if mozilla-mobile/focus-android#4299 has the same cause? I know that the development of Focus is on hold at the moment, but still an update was released via Google Play Store more than three weeks ago and it's a bit sad that nobody seems to care about new regressions on the release channel. Would be interesting to know at least if it's the same issue.
