After adding ipv6 support to the host grammar in common_log_format.lua the memory usage is 3.5 times higher:
seconds per match: 1.5e-05
max memory (bytes): 1359240
max Lua instructions: 1712

With the ipv6 support commented out:
seconds per match: 1.6e-05
max memory (bytes): 377932
max Lua instructions: 1698

Tests using the ipv6 grammar (or even the host grammar) outside of the clf module do not exhibit this behavior.
