Consider simple, obvious, visible way to delete an account w/o first signing in #372
Comments
Perhaps we just need to document (where is the documentation?) how to delete an account vs. deleting an email from an account. |
let's do this with a SUMO ticket |
we should add this to sumo! |
working from the other end of the bug queue :-) Opened a SUMO bug to add delete-account instructions: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=861025 |
this should probably live here instead of bugzilla. @wbamberg thoughts? want to take it? |
Yes, I can take this. (The answer is just to click "You may, at any time, cancel your account", isn't it?) |
Obviously the UI has changed since I wrote this! |
...and while we were debating this, Micheal Verdi fixed it: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-manage-my-persona-account?#w_how-do-i-cancel-my-persona-account (note that there is also a fix for the typo "cancle" waiting to be reviewed). |
Woot! Closing! |
Right now places like Amazon and PayPal require the user to make direct contact with the site to get an account suspended or removed.
It would be nice to have an easier way than that for the user to do an account deletion but, without having to enter the standard Sign In path on diresworb.org and browserid.org.
Obviously, most users would not know about the diresworb.org/manage page, so something on the main site would be useful.
The closest thing I see is the "Account Manager" page in diresworb.org, which appears to only allow deletion of an email from an account.
It is not clear if this is the right location to delete an entire account (or if, deleting the one or the last email = deleting an account).
(that could be a separate UI issue)
