Dates in newsfeed are not localized

I'm looking at Test Pilot in Italian and I see June 29th, 2017 instead of a properly localized date.

Now it looks like this, with localized names and a completely broken format for Italian. Full English would be better.

Two spots where we format news update timestamps that need reworking:

Might be better to use the Intl.DateTimeFormat API? Seemed like we had good luck with it on Snooze Tabs and it seems to have good browser support.
