Using default WP API to fetch snippets from remote server is wrong and confusing. Field's names don't follow any rules and a lot of unnecessary data is being sent.
Thus the browse/fetching API needs complete rewrite. The new API specification must be minimal, easy to understand and very well documented. It should be completely disconnected from WP API, so non-WP servers can easily provide their own snippet repository.
