First stable version of Parasite Clouds, the alternate firmware for Mutable Instruments Clouds.

Changelog since v0.9:

  • Enhanced quality of the interpolation of the Oliverb and pitch shifting algorithms;
  • Reduced clipping in Oliverb mode;
  • Fixed a bug potentially creating a constant pitched noise in the built-in reverb in the main modes;
  • Fixed a bug potentially causing a freeze of the module in time-stretcher mode.

Features:

  • The OliVerb, a new, full-featured creative reverb mode, inspired by the Erbe Verb, with live control over all parameters. It is modeless, unrealistic and goes far beyond your traditional reverb;
  • More envelopes for your grains: the Texture knob allows to select ramp down or ramp up-shaped grains. Square-shaped grains have steeper edges for extra glitch;
  • Tempo syncing with clock multiplier/divisor in looping delay and time-stetcher mode;
  • Availability of much smaller grains compared to the official firmware.

Clouds: new reverb playback mode
It can be accessed like the other factory playback mode, by holding the Blend button for 4 seconds and pressing it again until the last three leds are lit. In this mode, the input goes through the built-in reverb, which parameters can be controlled by the knobs and CV inputs:

  • Position: pre-delay amount (from 0 to about half a second),
  • Size: reverb tail size (can be driven to self-oscillation),
  • Density: density of the diffuser (from scarce to dense),
  • Texture: dampening (from dark to bright),
  • Dry/Wet: well... dry/wet.

All other controls (pitch, freeze, ...) are left unspecified. Their behavior might change in future versions.

Pre-release

Frames: implemented a sequencer sub-mode allowing to edit the values of the current step

To enter it, long-press DEL while in sequencer mode. The keyframe LED will blink, indicating that the controls now directly edit their values at the current step. In this mode, the frame knob has no effect.
