New Notes don't sync to Nextcloud properly #100
Comments
Some Quillnote features such as Reminders and Attachments are not supported by Nextcloud and notes that contain only reminders or attachments will show up as empty in Nextcloud. What kind of notes do you sync? |
I have the same issue. If I create a text note (even without any formatting option) with quillnote, in nextcloud it appears as empty note titled "New Note". Any subsequential changes are not synched, the note remains blank. I have no problem with other client synching, so I don't think it's a cloud problem. I run the app on Android 11 |
Next update will include a revamped syncing mechanism so please wait for that! |
Should we still be waiting for another update. I see 1.4 but my phone (Pixel 6) won't download the update from Play store and the apk on github is giving me errors. "Can't be parsed" |
Having the same issue / a similar issue as the original OP:
Smartphone: Pixel 6; CalyxOS |
So I stumbled on a bit more information regarding the syncing from quillnote to nextcloud that might help. It seems that the creation of a note triggers the actual sync event, but editing does not. So like the previous comments state a new blank note shows up on the Nextcloud server, but any contents added after the fact the do not. If you make an edit to a note, you can use the following steps to trigger the note to sync correctly - at least in my experimenting.
It's tedious, but appears to be a workaround for the current nextcloud sync issues. |
When you create a new note with Nextcloud syncing enabled, it shows up in Nextcloud Notes as an empty New Note regardless of what it looks like in Quillnote.
