As a general rule, anything submitted as a "pull request" is going to be a) more likely to be incorporated and b) going to get incorporated faster. The reason is that accepting a pull request is very easy for me. I can scan all the changes at a glance and if I like them, I just have to push one button. That being said, I don't expect everyone to become a Git user just to contribute to the book. But the process will be more efficient in cases where people do use Git.
