[icons] npm hangs when installing @mui/icons-material from behind a proxy

Steps to reproduce

Internet access to npm registry and github using proxy

Steps:

1. install material-icons

Current behavior

No response

Expected behavior

Context

When installing material-icons from behind proxy it hangs, and give Timeout error with internet error or connection problems
all other MUI packages that don't install material-icons work perfectly

npx @mui/envinfo

This issue is debilitating to productivity when someone needs to work on package-related things.

We're aware of the issue and are working to solve it. I'm marking this as a duplicate of #26240. You can follow the progress there. The first attempt at solving it will be #35233, which should come out son v6 alpha soon.
