Issue report

Operating system:
Windows 10 pro 19043.1083 Insider Beta channel (issue persisted on public release as well)
App version:
2021.4

Issue description

Microsoft Store fails to connect when attempting to download an app while connected to wireguard.

Openvpn:

  • can browse the store
  • can sign in
  • can download
    wireguard:
  • can browse the store
  • can sign in (sometimes)
  • connection error on download
    • error codes received:
      • Code: 0x800704C6
      • 0x800704cf
        Additional insights:
    • seems to mostly effect installing apps I havent installed before
    • effects the xbox app (workaround is signing in connected to openvpn than switching to wireguard)
    • sometimes blocks windows update

Thanks for the report. Would you mind testing out the vanilla WireGuard client to see if it's an issue with our firewall, or WireGuard/Wintun?

Seems the issue is exclusive to windows 10. So focus on windows 10. Issue seems to have completely disappeared in the windows 11 developer preview
