OS X Mountain Lion - "MultiBit-0.5.0alpha” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should eject the disk image. #44

I have downloaded both 0.4.6 and 0.5.0alpha for Mac and both of them are giving me the following error.

"MultiBit-0.5.0alpha” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should eject the disk image.

I have included a screenshot below.

I could not find anything online from a search or within the issues on here.

I cloned the source from the v0.5 branch and built it using Maven all was fine.

Hi Arthur,
Thanks for your bug report.
I am pretty sure it is to do with the new GateKeeper software in OSX 10.8 and have written up a "how-to" on how to fix it. It is a security setting to change.

Would you mind trying out the steps I have put on the help page to check that it works ok please ?

Apple must really be pushing to get developers to use their App Store I
think.
