Sometimes, articulations and text that is attached to a note needs to be aligned to the same vertical height, rather than in relation to the respective notes:

FWIW, I recently wrote a plugin to do this - see https://musescore.org/en/project/align. It would be simple for someone to adapt this into a native command.
