Your idea

Add a feature that allows the user to add comments, sort of like the "Sticky" feature in Adobe Acrobat, or the comments in MS Word.

Here is a comment from Acrobat. You can move it around to any position on the file.

Problem to be solved

When working on a score, it is often useful to be able to make a "note to self" on some element to which one need to come back to at a later date. Some might use a regular pen and paper to manage those notes, but notes within the score are often a better solution, especially when working with multiple people.

In MU3.6, there is a plugin allowing that (Annotations), but (-) it isn't working in MU4.1 (due to the "unfinished" plugin API of 4.x), (-) it is a plugin, meaning it is not available when opening MU: the plugin must be manually launched at every start of MU.

Great idea, and I hope it gains momentum. I spent a little time playing with Sibelius First because I knew it had that feature. But I couldn't give up all the stuff I like in MuseScore for it.
I frequently have multiple projects going at once, and sometimes getting back to one or the other is delayed by weeks or even months, so having some notes to help me pick up where I left off would be a huge productivity enhancer.

Definitely a good idea. I transcribe a lot of classical music and to boost my productivity regarding this, I do a spin the wheel process every hour or so to decide on the piece I'm doing if I haven't done the systematic piece(i.e. the one that would be next to finish for uploads) yet. This means that for one or 2 composers at least, I'm doing 2 of their pieces in 1 day. Like I might do a Beethoven sonata movement and a single instrumental part of a Beethoven symphony in the same day. Or I might do a Mozart opera and a Mozart quartet in the same day.

However, it can be quite a while between when the wheel lands on a piece like say Symphony no. 5 in C minor Op. 67 and the next time it lands on that piece. I have a good memory, but it would still be very helpful to me to have this comments feature so that I could put in things like "Finish the recapitulation in staff 2" or "Add an extra staff for proper trill playback here" or "pages x-y of Breitkopf edition on IMSLP"
