Your idea

I'd love to see the addition of an instrument that is a standard Bb Bass Clarinet, but it uses the bass clef when written at concert pitch, and it uses the treble clef when transposed. It's possible to fiddle around with the clefs and make this happen, but it seems unnecessary as this way of writing for bass clarinet is commonplace.

Problem to be solved

When a score is in concert pitch, most (in my experience, all) conductors expect to see a bass clarinet written in bass clef, not treble clef 8vb. Adding this instrument will reduce the steps needed to conform to this standard, and will make it easier for a younger/novice composer/engraver to make a professional quality score.
