It's not uncommon to ask for a timpani roll to be prefaced a flam or 2-note "drag" or similar figure (whereby one or more rapid lower-dynamic strokes precede the beat). But for some reason MuseScore doesn't seem to be play back the roll properly in this case, instead playing it back as a literal series of mechanical rapidly repeated samples.
Steps to reproduce
Create a new piece with timpani
Add a roll (any note with a 3-bar tremolo), confirm it plays back okay
Add a grace note before the roll, and play it back again, and it sounds like something only a computer could generate!
