There is not a image in clipboard & can't capture screenshots in markdown

I am experiencing some very weird behaviour, I am struggling to describe it.

I downloaded the plugin, I am on a Mac.

When I do the screenshot with cmd + shit + 4

And then I go into the md file and press option + cmd + v as described in the documentation,

It just takes a weird screenshot of one of the links on the markdown file and completely ignores what I have just captured with my screen

Initially it was just taking a screenshot of a link in the markdown and no matter what screenshot I created, It kept adding that same image of just some random link from my markdown file.

When I removed that link, now it just says "there is not a image in clipboard"

The instructions are not very clear and a bit confusing.

Whats happening ?
