TODO

  • NEW Write an article for the #fprog_ru

  • NEW Prepare a 0.9 release

  • NEW Move the website to http://funcparserlib.pirx.ru/

  • NEW Write classic API docs

  • NEW Write normal guides: short and sweet (using nested brackets, Lisp S-Exprs and JSON)

  • NEW Rewrite tests from the examples as nose unittests

  • NEW Make non-halting error messages easier to understand

  • NEW Convert the documenation into the Sphinx format

  • NEW Make standard imports more compact, like this:

from funcparserlib import tok, many, maybe, fwd

  • NEW Clean up all the tok()-related stuff in funcparserlib.parser

  • ACCEPTED Measure the performance, make the new version better than 0.3.4

  • ACCEPTED Try to accelerate parsing LL(1) or LL(k) parts of the grammar (predictive parsing, parallel computations, only linear performance improvements though)

  • ACCEPTED Try to write a LL(k) grammar detection function (a non-LL(k) detection function with counter-examples will be nicer to have)

  • WONTFIX Try to write a full predictive LL(k) parser generator for LL(k) grammars

Resolution: It's impractical as the current algorithm is already O(n) for such grammars. And a purely LL(k) grammar is a rare one.

  • FIXED Add the primitive tok(type[, value]) instead of some which is slower and not acceptable for the grammar class analysis

  • WONTFIX Try to optimize the lexer by joining all the spec regexps together into a giant regexp

Resolution: It became slower than it had been before.
