Integrate Pivot4J as a component to a CDE Dashboard in Pentaho #141
Comments
Thanks much for the detailed explanation. I'll definately try to implement it before the upcoming 0.9 release. |
Hi, |
@tiziano74 Hi, I've spent most time in eliminating a performance regression and some other issues last weekend, but I did some preliminary research on CDE component as well. I think the best approach without REST backend would be just writing a simple plugin which generate an iframe to embed it. So that's what I'm going to do this weekend. So, if everything goes well, you can expect to try the initial version earlier next week. |
Fantastic! I can not wait to see the video on youtube of the installation and display |
Found a limitation which prevents me from letting users to choose Pivot4J reports easily. I created an issue report as below: For now, we'll have to type a relative path like /home/admin/test.pivot4j till it's fixed. |
Thank's Inviato da iPhone

@tiziano74 Hope you hadn't yet rushed to download, as I didn't even commit the changes when I wrote that comment :) Actually, the build has been started now and you'll be able to download it from below when it's finished : It'll also be available from the Marketplace shortly, and please bear in mind that It's very primitive at this stage. And feel free to report any error or suggestion here. Thanks! |
It would be nice to have a Pivot4J Component in CDE, so you can integrate a Pivot4J table directly on a dashboard where you have the same drill-down and sorting functionalities as within the plugin.
As a user I would like to create a Pivot4J table with the Pivot4J Plugin and save it somewhere in my Pentaho BI-Server Repository. When creating a new CDE Dashboard I would like to have a Pivot4J component, where you specifiy the path to the .pivot4j file and the html-object where the table should be placed.
As with all the other CDE components the user should be able to define listeners and parameters. On the dashboard, only the table or maybe a few table options should be displayed.
If something like this is possible, that would be awesome!
